As iPod Use Declines…

…Use of other portable music players increase. If you haven't used iPods lately, it's no wonder. iPhones, iPads, computers in cars, and other devices are bringing music everywhere, reinventing how we define and use iPods.

The iPod redefined portable music. Sure, there were other music players, but there synching software was clunky and they didn't have the vision of Apple.

Now, though, used iPods are becoming a rare thing as the iPod touch, marketed as more of a game player and app device, as well as iPhone replace the original iPod.

iPods will soon have been around for ten years, and it will mark an important decade. The Zune is dead. Cars feature iPod docks. People have used iPods as alarms, weather alert systems, toys, and communication devices, as well as music players.

Of course. athlete's use iPods the most. You don't need a multifunctional device when running—you want something small that you can strap to your arm. Today's iPods focus on that use.
