Done Using iTunes? New Alternatives Abound for iPods.
If you've used iPods, iPhones, or any other Apple device, you've used iTunes.
Developed over a decade ago, iTunes has become a burly piece of software, anthetical to Apple's usual sleek, simple design. But if you wanted to use iPods, you had to use iTunes. And the program is now more burden than tool, admittedly because Apple is committed to DRM and other anti-piracy devices, that do no more than limit paying consumer iPod use.
Internet is everywhere, so if you iPod can use WiFi, it's simple enough to go to sites like Pandora, SoundCloud, and Spotify (which can now function in place of iTunes to synch your music and use iPods).
Of course, the cheapest way to upgrade to an iPods that uses WiFi (if you haven't already) is a used iPods. Used iPods cost less for the upgrade, and give you a wider range of iPod options since iTunes discontinues old iPods as it introduces new ones.
Plus, refurbished iPods are often equivical to new ones. With Apple, claiming you were "first" to something, or are attached to a certain used iPod generation is about as good as being the guy with the brand new iPod. (and who wants to stand in line when you can order used iPods online?)
What iTunes alternatives do you use for iPods?
