Why The iPhone 4S Will Make Unlocked Android Cell Phones Important
Sprint is finally getting the iPhone, and hard-core iPhone users are excited to finally have access to a service that offers an unlimited plan.
But it looks like there might be unintended consequences for Android lovers, and here's why you should purchase your unlocked Android cell phones now.
In order to carry the new iPhone, Sprint had to spend $20 Billion on 30.5 million units. Even if Sprint customers flock to the iPhone, even if iPhone lovers flock to Sprint, it will take a few years to make a profit on that huge of an investment.
Which means Android phones, for which Sprint normally had a lot to offer, will probably fall to the wayside, at least over the next year.
While you can still enjoy the same great service on Sprint using unlocked cell phones featuring either Android or Apple OS, whether or not Sprint will be carrying the same variety of Android phones is in doubt. So, if you could care less about Apple, pick up a top of the line unlocked Sprint cell phone now.
Why is it important to ensure it's an unlocked cell phone? Although it seems Sprint is committed to it unlimted plan, previous carriers were unable to carry the burden of iPhone use on existing broadband, so it may not last indefinitely on Sprint either.
Time will tell. The best way to be prepared is to pick up your favorite brand of unlocked cell phone now.
