Apple vs. Android/Google

Many people fall fanatically to either side of the aisle. Apple has devotees who decorate and organize their lives with every gadget. Android, and more broadly Google, has it's own hoard who use its services with the same intensity.

Others choose between Apple and Android phones and products based on how they work. Some will choose Android because the software is more open, and therefore more available to scrutiny and, in consequene, held to a higher standard. Other will choose Apple because their needs are less complicated, more artistic, or because they need a system that is reliable, and that can work when they need it to, without too much for thought.

To that end, used iPods remain quite popular. Refurbished iPods work as well (and, depending on the generation, sometimes better) as a new iPod at a fraction of the price. Used iPods can gather apps, and if unlocked, download them from other sources.

Although Apple products, including used iPods are generally locked behind Apple's gates, jailbreaking them can give the same feel of freedom that Android products have (and, indeed, jailbreaking Android products is just as popular, so a comparison between locked used iPods and Android devices becomes a bit unfair).

In any case, find the device you want among used iPods, iPads, and iPhones, as well as various Android devices.
